KPMG's Microsoft Business Solutions team is a Microsoft Gold Partner and leader in Microsoft software implementations for medium to large organisations, providing our clients with the ability to keep up with the ever-changing digital world by implementing Microsoft’s Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Customer Engagement (CE) software from the Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) software line.

Role Overview

The Azure Consultant works alongside our Solution and Technical Architects to deliver quality Azure solutions for our clients. The Consultant will support the design of Azure solutions and play a key role in the deployment of these solutions. The Technical Consultant will continuously learn, be able work independently with input from Senior members of the team. The Technical Consultant will help drive quality of delivery into the team and work with Architects and Engineering to ensure our code repositories are maintained to a high standard. 

Responsibilities

The Azure Consultant will be responsible for: 

• Reviewing and recommending technologies to improve delivery of Microsoft solutions
• Building and maintaining repeatable infrastructure as code
• Automation of deployments and workload configuration\management
• Be a technological cloud advocate to a wider audience inside and outside of the business
• Be part of internal innovation hubs and collaborate across the entire firm
• Drive innovation by developing code base and automated deployments
• Work on client projects and attend workshops as part of the SME team

Skills and Qualifications

• Experience or willing to learn infrastructure as code (IaC)
• Experience with Azure IaaS (networking, storage, virtual machines)
• Experience of Azure Backup & Recovery Services
• Experience of Azure SQL (Managed Instances & PaaS)
• Knowledge of Azure Governance (Blueprints, policies, tagging, cost management)
• Knowledge of Azure Security (NSG, ASG Sentinel, Security Centre, Defender, ACL, Azure Firewall, Policy)
• Knowledge of Azure identities (Azure AD, Service Principals, Managed Identities) 
• Ability to build strong relationships and shows technical expertise to deliver quality, client-centric solutions using Microsoft technologies
• Advocate innovation both within the firm and with clients and promotes collaboration amongst teams
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to influence and manage a range of relationships in a complex environment
• Strong communication skills (verbal, written and listening): an ability to present information concisely, to communicate in a manner applicable to all levels
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to ensure documents are consistent in language, terminology, and style
• Flexible approach to work with a focus on delivery to deadlines and high standards
