Job Description

As we continue to grow and strengthen our support and managed services offerings, we are seeking a Release Manager to join our team.

Manage the end-to-end release process to promote the highest level of quality in a technology implementation / release. Responsible for coordination of overall release effort – managing all cross-team dependencies and accounting for all business priorities in defining, constructing, certifying, and scheduling an application / change release into the testing and production environments respectively. Validate application development plans and release schedules and approve emergency releases. Help manage resolution of issues and defects related to application / platform under development. Coordinate activities of developer, tester, and infrastructure / environment teams.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the highest level of quality in release management for the client in managed services.
  • Manage all cross-team dependencies and consider business priorities when scoping, planning, and certifying an application / change release into the testing and production environments respectively.
  • Help analyze and communicate the likely impacts of the new release to the client and team.
  • Work across our ITIL based services, incident, problem, change and release management processes to make sure that excellent customer experience is always delivered.
  • Facilitate resolution and communication of cross-organization decisions, standards, and issues.
  • Design and manage the configuration management process for transferring application-related changes between the development environments and the production environment.
  • Adhere to configuration management standards and methodologies when overseeing the software development cycle through the various test environments and its implementation into production.
  • Work with the application teams and the client to ensure scheduled changes take place with little or no impact to the business (and when applicable with proper notification to the business)
  • Ensure that policy, regulatory and control requirements are met though execution of standard transition checklists and procedures.
  • Ensure all application documentation is properly updated, and signoff has been received at each phase of the test cycle.
  • Establish and maintain working relationships across the technology organization.
  • Encourage strong partnerships with the businesses and other technology team members.
  • Participate in and support process improvement initiatives.
  • Working as a team to make sure continual improvement of our service.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years release management experience working within an IT Support/Managed Services environment.
  • Good communication skills and an excellent command of English language.
  • Strong customer focus with the ability to operate at all contact levels including senior manager/director level.
  • Demonstrable problem-solving skills.
  • Organised and delivery focused, strong planning skills and process driven.
  • Superior time-management skills along with strong sense of urgency.
  • People orientated, with team lead qualities, with experience of influencing and impacting leadership communities at varying levels.
  • Able to work independently with minimal direction.
  • ITIL certified.
