Role Overview

Join KPMG Malta’s expanding AI team as an AI Integration Software Engineer, where you'll help design, build, and deploy intelligent AI agents to drive innovation across domains. Working in a fast-paced, international environment, you'll collaborate with cross-functional teams, contribute to emerging AI solutions, and shape the future of agentic systems in real-world use cases.

What you'll do

• Design and develop AI-powered applications and autonomous agents using the Microsoft ecosystem, including, Azure OpenAI, and Semantic Kernel.
• Build and maintain scalable APIs, services, and integrations with LLMs and cognitive services such as cloud serverless functions and RESTful APIs.
• Collaborate with product owners, data scientists, and solution architects to translate business challenges into intelligent agent-driven systems.
• Implement prompt engineering strategies and work with tools like Semantic Kernel or Copilot Studio to orchestrate agent behaviours.
• Ensure systems are secure, scalable, and maintainable, following best practices in software engineering and cloud deployment.
• Within your role, you have the responsibility of protecting all information that is shared with you during your association with KPMG (including information provided by clients) in line with the requirements of the Information Security Policy as stated within your contractual agreement. Policies are subject to regular review and change and hence the employee is obliged to remain updated accordingly.

Who We're Looking For

Required Skills

• Strong programming experience with .NET / C# or Python
• Familiarity with React.js or other modern JavaScript frameworks
• Comfortable working in a Microsoft tech environment, including tools like Visual Studio/Code, Azure DevOps, and Git

Nice-to-Have

• Experience with Azure OpenAI Service, Azure Cognitive Services, or Azure Machine Learning
• Exposure to Semantic Kernel, Copilot Studio, or other Microsoft-native orchestration frameworks for AI agents
• Understanding of RAG (retrieval-augmented generation), prompt engineering, or conversational AI design
• Familiarity with Power Platform is a plus, but not essential
