KPMG's Microsoft Business Solutions team is a Microsoft Gold Partner and leader in Microsoft software implementations for medium to large organisations, providing our clients with the ability to keep up with the ever-changing digital world by implementing Microsoft’s M365, Azure, Microsoft’s Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Customer Engagement (CE) software from the Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) software line.
Role Overview
The Senior M365 Engineer works alongside our Solution and Technical Architect to deliver quality Microsoft 365 solutions for our client. The Senior M365 Engineer will support the Architects in the design and play a key role in the deployment of these solutions. The candidate will continuously learn, be able to work independently with input from Senior members of the team. The Senior M365 Engineer will work closely with the team and help drive quality of delivery for client engagements.
Main Responsibilities
- Plan, design, and deploy Microsoft 365 solutions, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive, and Intune
- Manage and troubleshoot Microsoft 365 services and issues, including identity, authentication, licensing, synchronization, and connectivity
- Monitor and optimize the Microsoft 365 environment, using tools such as Microsoft 365 Admin Center, Azure Active Directory, PowerShell, and Microsoft Graph
- Implement and enforce Microsoft 365 security policies and best practices, including data protection, threat protection, and governance
- Provide end-user support and training on Microsoft 365 applications and features
- Stay updated on the latest Microsoft 365 developments and trends, and recommend improvements and enhancements to the organization
- Willing to travel abroad when required
- Provide on-site support as required by company or client
- To carry out additional duties as may occur from time to time as instructed and agreed by the Practice management team
- Always represent KPMG Microsoft Business Solutions in a professional and positive manner
- The Employee is required to follow KPMG’s Information Security Policies (ISP and ISMP) at all times
Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent work experience
- At least 3 years of experience in Microsoft 365 administration, deployment, and support
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 services and features, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive, and Intune
- Strong understanding of Identity and Access Management aligned to O365 included AAD / Entra, Azure AD Connect and ADFS
- Experience in PowerShell scripting and Microsoft 365 automation
- Experience with Azure Active Directory, Microsoft 365 Admin Center, Microsoft Graph, and other Microsoft 365 management tools
- Certification in Microsoft 365 Fundamentals MS-900, MS-500, MS-700 or higher is preferred
- Advanced technical documentation skill set, to document design specifications, how to guides, etc.
- Advanced skills in sizing/estimating work, tracking to agreed timelines and reporting.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment, with attention to detail and quality
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences

- Microsoft Purview
- Microsoft Premium (including Microsoft Syntex)
- SharePoint Advanced Management
- Microsoft Defender
- Entra
- The candidate should have 4+ years’ experience in on premises or cloud technologies and demonstrate:
- Ability to build strong relationships and shows technical expertise to deliver quality, client-centric solutions using Microsoft technologies
- Advocate innovation both within the firm and with clients and promotes collaboration amongst teams
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to ensure documents are consistent in language, terminology, and style
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to influence and manage a range of relationships in a complex environment
- Strong communication skills (verbal, written and listening): an ability to present information concisely, to communicate in a manner applicable to all levels
- Flexible approach to work with a focus on delivery to deadlines and high standards
- Ability to handle highly confidential information with tact and discretion
- Eagerness to learn and continually to develop
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbally and in writing
