Role Overview
A Senior M365 Architect are responsible for designing, implementing, and managing cloud-based solutions using Microsoft 365 products and services. The Senior M365 Architect will work with clients to understand their business needs and goals, and then translate them into technical requirements and solutions. The candidate will enable and guide the design and development of integrated solutions in large and complex projects, often with a global scope. They also provide guidance and best practices on security, compliance, governance, and performance optimization for Microsoft 365 environments.
Main Responsibilities
- Work with clients on their Microsoft cloud adoption strategy and lead cloud engagements
- Design and implement Microsoft 365 solutions that meet the client's business objectives and requirements
- Create high level architecture designs based on clients' requirements
- Act as Technical Design Authority on projects alongside Senior Technical Architects
- Provide technical leadership and expertise on Microsoft 365 products and services, such as Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive, Power Platform, Azure AD, Intune, and Security and Compliance Center
- Develop and maintain documentation, diagrams, and policies for Microsoft 365 solutions
- Conduct workshops, training sessions, and presentations to educate clients and stakeholders on Microsoft 365 capabilities and benefits
- Collaborate with other architects, engineers, developers, and project managers to ensure successful delivery and integration of Microsoft 365 solutions
- Work in close collaboration with business architects and change teams during the inception and development of architecture and product requirements, including with executive stakeholders
- Monitor and troubleshoot Microsoft 365 issues and incidents, and provide root cause analysis and resolution
- Stay updated on the latest trends, developments, and best practices in Microsoft 365 and cloud computing
- Willing to travel abroad when required
- Provide on-site support as required by company or client
- Performance manage and/or mentor junior members of the team
- To carry out additional duties as may occur from time to time as instructed and agreed by the Practice management team
- Always represent KPMG Microsoft Business Solutions in a professional and positive manner.

Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or related field
- At least 5 years of experience in designing, implementing, and managing Microsoft 365 solutions
- Give effective advice in large-scale technology projects while working at all levels with clients and internal team
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 products and services, and their integration with other Microsoft and third-party technologies
- Strong technical skills to implement IAM Security services with hands on experience on several of the items outlined below:
- Managing identity and access on-premise with Active Directory
- Managing identity and access in the Microsoft Cloud – Azure Active Directory
- Secure Hybrid environments (AD Connect and authentication)
- Azure AD Self-service password reset, Azure AD access reviews
- Azure AD App Registration
- Azure AD Directory roles
- Authentication Methods (sign-on security, multi-factor authentication (MFA), device sign-on methods, Azure Seamless SSO, ADFS, ADFS Proxy, PHS and PTA)
- Azure AD Conditional Access (Compliance and conditional access policies, device compliance policy, conditional access policy)
- Role-based access control (RBAC)
- Azure AD Privileged Identity Management (PIM)
- Azure AD Identity Protection (User risk policy and sign-in risk policy)
- Azure ATP (Plan and implementation threat protection)
- Advanced knowledge designing, supporting, and upgrading Active Directory environments (Authentication, Authorization, Group Policy Objects, LDAP, PKI, DNS, ADFS, MIM/PAM, LAPS, etc.)
- Identity Lifecycle Management
- Knowledge of SAML, OpenID Connect, OAuth, JSON, SPML, SCIM, XACML integration standards
- Understanding of REST and SOA fundamentals and design
- Desirable technical skills and experience:
- Microsoft Copilot Studio
- Microsoft Purview
- Microsoft Premium (including Microsoft Syntex)
- SharePoint Advanced Management
- Microsoft Defender
- Entra
- The candidate should have 8+ years in cloud or infrastructure delivery and:
- Builds and cultivates strong relationships and shows technical leadership to deliver quality, client-centric solutions using Microsoft technologies
- Manages architecture, preparation and delivery for projects
- Can advocate innovation both within the firm and with clients, and promotes collaboration amongst teams
- Advanced technical knowledge, direction and training to others
- Experienced Azure architect with delivery of Microsoft infrastructure (cloud & on-premises) background or application migrations to serverless technologies
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to influence and manage a range of relationships in a complex environment
- Strong communication skills (verbal, written and listening): an ability to present information concisely, to communicate in a manner applicable to all levels
- Able to produce high quality and professional presentations
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to ensure documents are consistent in language, terminology and style
- Flexible approach to work with a focus on delivery to deadlines and high standards
- Ability to handle highly confidential information with tact and discretion
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbally and in writing
