Role Overview

KPMG Microsoft Business Solutions are looking for an experienced Programme Manager to lead the successful delivery of complex, large-scale transformation programmes. This is a senior leadership role, operating above individual project delivery, with accountability for defining the programme delivery approach, shaping governance, and driving predictable outcomes across scope, schedule, budget, quality, and benefits. You will provide direction across multiple workstreams and projects, ensuring delivery remains aligned to strategic objectives and that dependencies and delivery risks are actively managed. 

The Programme Manager is a core member of KPMG customer delivery, accountable for programme mobilisation, integrated planning, and executive stakeholder management. You will lead the programme governance cadence (including Steering Committee forums), own the consolidated RAID, dependency and financial position, and direct the day-to-day coordination of blended onshore and offshore delivery teams through project and workstream leads. You will also coach and provide oversight to senior project managers and project managers to ensure consistent standards, quality, and reporting across the programme.

• Translates organisational strategy into actionable programme plans and delivery objectives.
• Prepares structured recommendations, highlighting risks, issues, and trade‑offs for governance forums.
• Defines and tracks measurable success criteria to monitor delivery progress.
• Develops and maintains programme roadmaps reflecting dependencies and delivery commitments.
• Establishes milestone plans that support effective reporting and governance.
• Provides accurate, timely updates for governance forums and steering committees.
• Consolidates project data into clear programme reports highlighting progress, risks, and financials.
• Provides factual analysis to support planning and issue resolution.
• Leads day‑to‑day stakeholder engagement and supports governance activities.
• Coordinates resource needs across projects to support delivery.
• Manages programme budgeting, forecasting, and financial tracking.
• Ensures programme delivery aligns with organisational processes and best practices.
• Monitors KPIs and works with teams to implement corrective actions.
• Defines measurable benefits, tracks delivery, and ensures effective transition to operations.
• Provide on-site support as required by company or client
• Ensures programme activities comply with legal, regulatory, and internal requirements.
• Leads and supports project managers and cross‑functional delivery teams.
• Works closely with Solution Architects to ensure deliverables meet quality expectations.
• Contributes to pre‑sales by providing delivery planning and estimation input.

• Contributes to pre‑sales with planning and estimation guidance.
• Produces regular performance reports for governance forums.
• Provide on-site support as required by company or client

• Performance manage and/or mentor junior members of the team
• Applies organisational processes, standards, and delivery methods. 

Experience and Background

• –8 years’ experience in programme delivery or equivalent experience in delivering complex, multi-workstream projects.
• Proven experience managing medium‑to‑large programmes with multiple projects.
• Strong understanding of governance processes and ability to apply established frameworks.
• Experience coordinating project managers and cross‑functional delivery teams.
• Able to translate strategy into delivery plans and milestones.
• Experience tracking KPIs, producing performance reports, and driving corrective actions.
• Strong capability in identifying, documenting, and managing risks and issues.
• Experience managing programme budgets, forecasts, and financial reporting.
• Experience defining measurable benefits and tracking delivery.
• Provides input into planning and estimation during pre‑sales.
• Solid understanding of the organisation’s domain and delivery environment. 

Skills and Qualifications

• A higher degree in business administration or a related field will be considered an asset.
• Highly experienced in Waterfall and Agile project management, ideally with direct experience and knowledge of tools including Azure DevOps, Jira, VSTS, TFS, and of methodologies including Scrum and Kanban;
• Ideally experience and specialism in ERP and / or CRM implementation projects, preferably utilising the Microsoft stack;
• Able to produce high quality and professional presentations;
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to ensure documents are consistent in language, terminology and style;
• Flexible approach to work with a focus on delivery to deadlines and high standards;
• Ability to handle highly confidential information with tact and discretion;
• Excellent communication skills in English, both verbally and in writing
• Manages day‑to‑day stakeholder communication and governance reporting.
