KPMG's Microsoft Business Solutions team is a Microsoft Gold Partner and leader in Microsoft software implementations for medium to large organisations, providing our clients with the ability to keep up with the ever-changing digital world by implementing Microsoft’s M365, Azure, Microsoft’s Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Customer Engagement (CE) software from the Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) software line.

The Graduate Systems Administrator is responsible of maintaining and monitoring, assisting with technical issues on the organization's on-premise and cloud infrastructure. This role is crucial in supporting business operations, troubleshooting technical issues, and implementing best practices for system efficiency, providing an opportunity to gain experience in IT support tasks and learn from experienced IT professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support & Troubleshooting: Provide technical support, resolve system issues, monitor performance and health of the infrastructure.
  • System Administration: Assist in maintaining and manage on-premise and cloud services and servers as well as networks, and applications. 
  • Security & Compliance: Implement firewalls, access controls, and security patches to protect IT infrastructure.
  • Backup & Disaster Recovery: Maintain data backup strategies and failover mechanisms. Perform upgrades and updates to hardware and software systems. 
  • Automation & Scripting: Utilize PowerShell, Python, or Bash to automate system tasks.
  • Documentation & Collaboration: Maintain accurate documentation of systems, processes, and procedures. Collaborate with cross-functional teams. As well as maintain an inventory of hardware, software systems and licenses managed by the team. 
  • Training & Skills: Participate in training activities to enhance knowledge and skills

Experience & Technical Knowledge:

  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology (BSc IT or higher), or a related field. 
  • Preference for candidates with IT internship or job exposure experience

Skills & Competencies:

  • Fluency in English; verbal Maltese is an asset. 
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. 
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Windows operating systems and basic networking and cybersecurity concepts
